1. Educational Meetings and Workshops
Our regular meetings, offered to AAFRE members and their guests at the special members rate, provide informed presentations by guest speakers and the opportunity to learn from the practical experience of other fundraisers. You also get to sample the wonderful luncheons hosted by the Edmonton Petroleum Club.
2. Newsletter
Published six times per year, the AAFRE Newsletter is an excellent way to keep informed on the latest developments and opportunities in the fundraising field. AAFRE makes sure it's readily available to all our members.
3. Professional Development Conferences
AAFRE is pleased to work with other fundraising associations to offer the biennial Alberta Fundraising Conference. Such AAFRE-sponsored conferences offer members the latest in fundraising techniques, the chance to network with other fundraisers, and the ability to expand their professional and career opportunities.
4. Professional Development Assistance Grants
AAFRE is aware of the financial limitations of many organizations in the fundraising field. As a result, we created a professional development assistance grant that members may apply for to cover registration fees for educational conferences and workshops related to fundraising.
5. AAFRE Gift Planning Directory
As a member, AAFRE will bring your organization's name and cause to the attention of hundreds of lawyers and estate planners whose clients have the potential to make major contributions. More information about the directory is available on our resources page.
6. AAFRE Membership Directory
We make networking easy. All AAFRE members have access to an annual directory listing the contact details of fellow members.
7. Job Centre
Experts in fundraising are commonly sought out by several organizations in the region. The AAFRE website posts regular career opportunities for its members, and allows members to post their own openings at a discounted rate.
8. Fundraising Toolkit
As a new feature to the services AAFRE offers, we are providing members with full access to our fundraising toolkit. This resource offers the latest articles and Internet links on practical issues related to philanthropy and fundraising methods.
9. Special Events
AAFRE members are kept informed of special events that raise money for services like the Professional Development Assistance Grant.
10. A Sense of Community
Finally, joining the Alberta Association of Fundraising Executives gives your organization access to a united community of fundraisers who work together to make life better for Albertans all across the province.
The membership year runs from September 1 to August 31. Annual memberships for new members are discounted after January 31 by one half. Organizations that purchase memberships may transfer representation to others within their organization.
